About The New Legion Movie

This synopsis was taken from the official website of Legion. It is based on an original script written by Peter Schink but director and writer Scott Stewart (founder of effects company The Orphanage which brought you Pirates of the Caribbean, Sin Cty, Superman Returns and Iron Man ) was brought in to make major adjustments. Schink’s idea was taken in, but everything else, Stewart rewrote the whole film for his directorial debut.

Basically, the whole story is about what if God once again loses His faith on man. Before, He flooded the whole world for forty days. But what if He decided to destroy the human race again? So, He sent His siege of angels to the earth to eliminate the human race. Noah’s ark, only this time it doesn’t involve Noah or an ark, but spills of blood, angels fighting, and an old lady biting a young man’s neck.

Humanity’s only hope lies on the hands of a group of strangers stranded in a on a remote diner in the Southwest and the archangel Michael (played by Paul Bettany). His mission is to protect the diner’s pregnant young waitress (played by Adrianne Palicki) who is then revealed carrying on her womb Jesus Christ. They must work together to save the lady so that she can deliver the Messiah for His second coming. She is the only hope for mankind to survive.

This special effects filled, action thriller boasts an ensemble cast which includes Paul Bettany (The Da Vinci Code), Dennis Quaid (Horsemen), Lucas Black (The X-Files), Tyrese Gibson (Transformers), Kate Walsh (Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice), Adrianne Palicki (Supernatural), Charles S. Dutton (Secret Window, Gothika), and Willa Holland (Garden Party).

It is produced by David Lancaster (The Breed, A Love Song For Booby Long) and Michael Litvak (Bobby, Coming Early Morning). It is distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing and Screen Gems.
